About Us
Birthed in a Season of Prayer
Beacon of Hope was birthed during a personal retreat with the Lord in August 2025. In a season of intentional consecration and intimacy with Him, God began speaking repeatedly through imagery - lighthouses, beacons, flames - until the name Beacon of Hope became unmistakably clear, along with the vision for the logo.
The vision came with Scripture: Isaiah 49:10 - a promise of God's compassionate leading, provision, and His heart for the vulnerable.
“They will not hunger or thirst, nor will the scorching heat or sun strike them down; for He who has compassion on them will lead them and will guide them to springs of water.”
Isaiah 49:10
The founder had long carried compassion for marginalized communities - those experiencing homelessness, vulnerable children, and women - especially as someone who survived FGM and understands the deep need for healing and justice in that area. The earliest seeds of giving were planted in childhood, but official ministry began in Baltimore, making brown paper sandwich bags and handing them to the unhoused, soon after giving her life to Christ.
During the retreat, the Lord clarified that this foundation was not meant to be just a private act of giving - but a public movement that would bring glory to Him, mobilize the Body of Christ, and restore dignity to those who have been forgotten. After sharing the vision with her pastors, they believed in it, encouraged her, and the church began supporting the mission.
The name symbolizes what the foundation is: a hand lifted high, carrying a torch with light and a cross in it - signifying the hope that is Christ. A torch of compassion. A guide toward hope. A reminder that Christ Himself is the Light who leads people to living water.
“Hope is a seed - and when planted through tangible love, it leads hearts back to Him.”
